Dark garnet red color with long legs. Subtle oak notes mix with lighter fruit and a touch of earth. The wine is medium body with nice tannins and acid. The texture is sublime. A long finish will have you coming back for more.

Grenache is a tough one for me, I’m still trying to figure out just where I want this varietal to go. This vintage is my favorite so far. Even though it was a hot vintage I was able to pick at a slightly lower brix level than before. The balance is noticeable. It is a great blending grape. It has a tartness I enjoy while still being smooth and easy drinking. One of the lighter wines we produce here but still packed full of flavor. The grapes were machined harvested and then fermented in small batches at the winery. After fermentation the wine was barrel aged for 20 months in French Oak. Only about 15% new oak was used in this blend highlighting the fruit aspect of the varietal.
