Syrah leads the way in this blend adding dark cherry notes to the nose, oak, toasted aromas, and a touch of citrus can also be detected. There is great balance on the palate, it starts off fruity and is leveled off quickly with tannin and acidity. Long lasting finish with a lip-smacking appeal.

The Tres Cruces has always been a one of my favorite wines to blend. Each vintage is a little different and unique. The Syrah has continued to be the backbone of this wine over the years but is complimented nicely with the Grenache and Mourvèdre. The previous two vintages were more evenly mixed but this year the Syrah was the star and is backed up by the other components. The Grenache adds acidity and brightness to the blend. The Mourvèdre adds complexity, pepper, and length to the finish. This wine is an amazing example of why Rhone blends are so popular. It is fruity and smooth. The wine has complexity and depth without being heavy and sweet.
