95% Grenache, 5% Syrah
Rich garnet colored with light red edges. The aromas are a combination of fruit and earth notes. The flavor is bright and vibrant, notes of dried red fruits mix with some tart and refreshing flavors.

2021 was a very interesting growing season. The winter was normal and spring started off nice and smooth. Temperatures slowly warmed and the grapes went through set and bloom right on time. In late June we had a heatwave that impacted the rest of the vintage. We hit a high of 118 degrees and had over 45 days of triple digit weather. The grapes stayed small and the crop load was smaller but loaded with intense flavors.
We have been using all our Grenache in the Tres Cruces blend since 2016. This year we had a nice crop and were able to keep a couple of barrels separate to make this wine. I like tight French Oak barrels for aging this delicate varietal. The flavor and body are delightful and it is exciting to bottle this varietal on its own again. A little Syrah was blended into the wine to add some structure and weight to the wine.
