Aromas of melon, starfruit, mild citrus and minerality, whatever that smells like, its more of a sensation. The flavors start off with mellow notes of orange peel, grapefruit, citrus and lemon flavors. Medium bodied with a nice long finish.

2023 was a unique vintage. We started the season late as a cool spring led to delayed bud break and flowering. The early season was several weeks behind and it looked like it might be a challenging vintage. Lucky for us the summer quickly warmed up and provided us with our second warmest season on record. The steady heat allowed us to catch up and start harvest in early September. The white wines had great flavors, ample acidity and perfect ripeness.
Albariño has always been one of my favorite wines to make from the Coyote Canyon Vineyard. We have been making our Concrete Fermented version since 2018 and love the contrast between this and our stainless steel fermented version. I feel like the concrete tanks continues to get seasoned and adds more complexity every year.
The fruit for this comes exclusively from our 2006 planting. The older vines ripen slightly slower and seem to have a more intense flavor profile. We machined harvested the grapes in early September and then aged in the concrete tank until filtration and bottling in February.
