77%Roussanne, 15% Viognier, 8% Marsanne Aromas of stone fruit, cream soda, some flora components make for an interesting mix or smells. The flavors start off fruity and slightly sweet, with mellow notes of orange peel, grapefruit, citrus and lemon flavors. Medium bodied with a nice long finish.
2023 was a unique vintage. We started the season late as a cool spring led to delayed bud break and flowering. The early season was several weeks behind and it looked like it might be a challenging vintage. Lucky for us the summer quickly warmed up and provided us with our second warmest season on record. The steady heat allowed us to catch up and start harvest in early September. The white wines had great flavors, ample acidity and perfect ripeness.
I am loving the way our Roussanne has been evolving over the years. As the vines get older the wines get better. I have been making this wine in stainless steel and love the way the fruit shines. There is a little more acidity in the grapes this year and the finish is nice and clean.
