100% Barbera A delicate salmon color, not to dark or light, just perfect. The aromas are organic strawberries, some light herbal notes and a touch of orange. The flavors continue with strawberry notes, a slightly lean texture and crisp finish. Great on a hot summer day, or paired with grilled meats and vegetables.
2024 was another great growing season for us. We started the year on the cool side, delaying budbreak and bloom in the vineyard. Once the cool spring past, things started to warm up in late June and kept cooking until harvest. We started picking our grapes in September, about a week later than average. Thankfully the weather was amazing right up until the end of October allowing for optimal ripeness.
I have been making our rose out of Barbera for over a decade now and one of the most consistent aspects is the strawberry notes in the wine, I love it. We farm this block a little heavy to slow down ripening and try to retain more acidity in the grapes. We machine harvest the grapes in early September and ferment the wine in a stainless steel tank. When fermentation is finished the wine is clean racked, adjusted, filtered and bottled.
