90% Viognier, 5% Marsanne, 5% Roussanne A slight golden hue is in the color, and when you swirl the wine the legs are noticeable. There are ripe stone fruit notes on the nose combined with a slight floral essence. The first note is a little white peach, a slight sweetness followed by a full bodied white with a lingering finish.
2024 was another great growing season for us. We started the year on the cool side, delaying budbreak and bloom in the vineyard. Once the cool spring past, things started to warm up in late June and kept cooking until harvest. We started picking our grapes in September, about a week later than average. Thankfully the weather was amazing right up until the end of October allowing for optimal ripeness.
I decided to pick our Viognier a little earlier this year to capture more acidity, floral notes and vibrancy. Because we started the season cool and the crop was a little behind we ended up picking around the average date but didn’t have as much sugar in the grapes. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and aged on its lees for several months prior to filtration and bottling. I did blend a little Roussanne and Marsanne into the wine to help add some depth and complexity to the blend.
