Blend Composition: Albarino, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier There are several layers to this wine, while it is not overly complex, there is a subtle complexity in the way the aromas and flavors blend together. It has plenty of stone fruit attributes, some slight herbal notes and a touch of citrus. The wine is well balanced but does have a little residual sugar to bring out more fruit aspects.
2024 was another great growing season for us. We started the year on the cool side, delaying bud break and bloom in the vineyard. Once the cool spring past, things started to warm up in late June and kept cooking until harvest. We started picking our grapes in September, about a week later than average. Thankfully the weather was amazing right up until the end of October allowing for optimal ripeness.
This has been a fun and interesting wine to blend the past few years. My first vision was a Rhone style white blend, well last year I didn’t have enough left over Rhone varietals so this wine became an Albarino Rhone blend. The trend continues this year as I blended Albarino with Roussanne, Marsanne, and Viognier. The wine is not a traditional blend but I love the subtle nuances of this wine.
