This medium-bodied white wine characterized by a light straw color and a citrus-driven profile. It opens with a bouquet of lemon, lime, mild grapefruit, and distinct minerality, transitioning on the palate to mellow notes of orange peel and citrus. The wine is defined by its excellent fruit-acid balance and a long, refined finish.
The 2025 Eastern Washington wine vintage featured high-quality fruit due to manageable heat throughout the growing season. A mild start and steady heat accumulation, despite August being the 4th warmest on record, led to optimal ripening aided by cool September nights. While yields were slightly down due to drought, berry concentration, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, was exceptional. Our White grapes were picked in early September and we finished the reds in late October.
Albariño has always been one of my favorite wines to make from the Coyote Canyon Vineyard. We have been making our Concrete Fermented version since 2018 and love the contrast between this and our stainless steel fermented version. I feel like the concrete tanks continues to get seasoned and adds more complexity every year.
The fruit for this comes exclusively from our 2006 planting. The older vines ripen slightly slower and seem to have a more intense citrus profile. We machined harvested the grapes in early September and then aged in the concrete tank until filtration and bottling in February.
